A central aim of LCNC is to be a model for others to learn from. As the project moves on, we are gaining experience in many different areas, for example, community organising, sustainable building techniques and how legislation affects co-ops and self builders. We are happy to share our knowledge and skills with others. With this in mind, this section will develop as the project grows. It will include best practice guides and toolkits including pitfalls and what can go wrong. We begin with an article from our reflection on the straw bale build we have undertaken. if you want to read more click on the title below.

Giulia Toscani's MA: LCNC, a case study 2014

We met Giulia at the week of housing events called Open House at a squatted venue in Elephant and Castle in spring 2013. As we were applyig for the Right to Build grant run by the GLA she asked if she could follow our expereinces using us as a case study for her MA dissertation at LSE. It was a pleasure to work closely with her over the next months. We miss her but know we have a good friend in Italy. She has left us with the maxim 'Just do it!!'

You can read her work here
